HotPot glass-fusing and Silver Art Clay
The HotPot is designed for glass-fusing but it is also a perfect tool for making jewellery in silver art clay, with or without glass. We do recommend that you have some basic knowledge of working with this silver clay before starting. The commonly used temperature for “baking” silver art clay is 650 °C / 1200 °F. Microwaves however do not have the option to set the temperature, they only have a button to set the wattage. Therefore the most important thing to do is to determine the best wattage and time to use for baking the silver clay in your microwave. Once this has been determined, you should never exceed these figures, since silver clay will melt if fired too high or too long, which is not our objective. Each and every microwave acts differently so please understand the importance to determine your own, personal figures.
